On March 8, 2012, the city of Asunción, Paraguay, hosted the Special Meeting of National Coordinators on Cartographic Agendas. The objective of the meeting was to discuss and agree upon the main characteristics and requirements for developing a geo-reference tool to guide territorial planning in South America, according to objective 5.2 of the Strategic Action Plan (PAE 2012-2022).
