The Ministers and/or their delegates who make up the South American Infrastructure and Planning Council (COSIPLAN), under the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR), met on June 18, 2010, in the city of Quito, Ecuador, upon the request of the UNASUR Presidency Pro Tempore held by Ecuador.

During the meeting, chaired by the Ecuadorian Minister for Coordination of Strategic Sectors, Mr. Jorge Glas, a brief presentation of the progress made by the UNASUR and its Councils was delivered, and the draft Statutes and Regulations of the COSIPLAN were read out and subsequently approved by the participants.
