On September 12, 2014, the city of Rio de Janeiro hosted the I Meeting of the Subgroup on the Antofagasta - Paranaguá Bioceanic Corridor, under the South American Infrastructure and Planning Council, UNASUR, which was attended by delegations from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay.

The expected results were: i) reach a consensus on future activities to move forward with the development of the Antofagasta - Salta - Paranaguá - Santos Bioceanic Corridor project; ii) develop a schedule highlighting the main milestones concerning the studies needed, the works to be implemented, and the identification of financing alternatives for the different stages.
