On September 10 and 11, 2014, the city of Rio the Janeiro, Brazil, hosted the Workshop on Air Integration, which was attended by delegations from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, and Suriname, as well as by representatives of the UNASUR General Secretariat, IIRSA Technical Coordination Committee Secretariat, the IDB, CAF, and FONPLATA.
The objetives of the workshop were i) Analyze the airport network system (passenger transport and freight) and the operational trends towards South American integration and its financial resources ii) Assess the South American air connectivity and elaborate a diagnosis on the subject iii)Analyze common policies of border airports on UNASUR countries iv) Share experiences, by identifying good practices on passenger transport and freight in other regions.
