On June 25, 2014, the city of Santiago, Chile, hosted the XXIV Meeting of IIRSA National Coordinators, which was attended by delegations from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname and Uruguay, and as well as by members of the UNASUR General Secretariat and of IIRSA Technical Coordination Committee (CCT).
Concerning projects, as a result of the meeting the countries reached an agreement to make public in the Project Information System (PIS) the information about the progress of the Integration Priority Project Agenda (API) that comes from the Continuous Monitoring System (CMS). As regards the Planning Methodologies and Tools and the Sectoral Integration Processes, the current status of the activities both carried out and underway was analyzed. The progress made in each action of the Work Plan is detailed in Annex 3.
This was the first time that representatives from non-governmental organizations concerned with environmental and social issues participated in a meeting of National Coordinators. In their statements, they stressed the importance of supporting investments in infrastructure with the active participation of the social and political organizations involved in the territories, and highlighted the EASE Methodology and the Integration Territorial Programs as instruments contributing to such purpose.
